Wanted to share a story about these two Beagles by Laura Isley that my
drawing was based on. "...we had to put the older dog, Ziggy (on the
left), down due to thyroid cancer. He was only 10 years old. Willis
was barely a year old and was with us in the room because the vet wanted
to make sure he knew not to look for Ziggy anymore. It was absolutely
heartbreaking, but necessary so as not to prolong Ziggy’s suffering. We
were lucky to have both dogs together for a year, however, and your
drawing has captured an image of them at their sweetest. Willis was only
10 weeks old when we got him last year and introduced him to his new
beagle pal, Ziggy. While Ziggy was annoyed by Willis’ puppy exuberance
at first, it did not take long for these fellows to bond and cuddle up
daily as exemplified by your artwork." - 8/1/2013
